Couple of years ago a lot of reefers set one up. Who still have theirs running?

I used to have one Riaan. Yes. It did work. But, I removed it once we relocated. I then lost all my corals nearly 3 years back. And I did not feel the need to replace this, for a FOWLR tank.

How is Adee doing, Helga? He used to visit often - but now? Yes. I know he HAD one. Helga - are you sure Adee's is still running? He rebuilt his tank about a year and a bit ago. I am not sure he re-installed the algae scrubber?

Heya Jacques....I see u back, saw a thread that explained your disappearance....nice to see u back :tt2:.

Yeah, I'm still a big fan of the simple stuff, I'm blessed with space...so I utilize it well.
@RiaanP...I'm intrigued why u asked who is "still" running scrubbers?

...and before u ask....I still have a huge DSB, chaeto macro and half a ton of LR :whistling:

I swear by it, only need to clean glass of coraline algae. I don't run a tank without an ATS and macro algae refuge.

Just though today on how things changed (supposedly).
Couple of years back it was DSB's
Then Scrubbers on top of that.
Then DSB's were removed and old school, does not work, whatever, replaced by NP reactors.
Now all those reactors are chucked out and solid carbon cubes (Orca) with the bomb method being the latest and greatest method to get nitrates and phosphates to zero

And @Adee still have zero readings with his scrubber and DSB. for Adee, the magic cure cost nothing, all cost was in the setup.

Last 2 years I do not have one. Due to different setup and what else. Now that I got the space again, its on the design board.

    Just stirring....

The point is what is easy to use

DSB has this rumour that it goes funny after a few years
ATS is a pain to clean
NP Pellets need a reactor and Skimmer to work well

not sure about the cubes never used them
