hiya all

every second day , i need to clean my front glass of my tank. There's this brown/green algae growing on it. theres tons of corraline growing elsewhere and a bit on the front glass which i wipe off.

whats the cause of the algae??? excess nutrients ??? is this the norm for one to clean the glass every few days ???

Some people are lucky and only have to clean once or twice a week.

 @ Kevin

Well the pro's overseas do recommend a certain number of snails and crabs per couple of litres, can't remember the exact figures but it worked out to be a whole lot.

Now to find some snails.... they way too expensive at the LFS. I only managed to find one turbo on my last transkei trip, and it fell on its back soon after.

Yeah if you put in the recommended amount you will spend as much on snails as on live rock :(
