Algae in my 18 week old tank

    Can you tell me is this red/maroon and greenish algae on my LR normal?Also some maroonish spots on the glass[​IMG]

    Sounds like Cyano and some Coralline Algae...How is you'r Phosphate and Nitrate Readings....Give some spec's of you'r Tank...as much as possible...together with what you have as Filtration..what Media you use.. and Flow...then take it from there...

    Hi Tinus,
    The spots on your glass is most likely coralline algae, which is good.
    The red/maroon on the rock might be the same, or it can be cyano which is not preferred.
    A pic would definitely help us to guide you better...
