    Has anyone used this in their tanks to stick a coral to the liverock? I'm having difficulty in finding the "reef friendly" putty in my area this week. I have checked the label of the Aquamend but it does not give any decent info whether poisonous to marine animals or not....

    Anyone used it before???

    most hardware stores should stock it and it's safe to use in our marine tanks..

    yes its safe and sets nicely underwater, i use a old toothbrush to brush the area first, then mix putty and place and set coral underwater.
    @shaunn
    you can get it from builders warehouse in the glue section

    works great, what i do is knead the putty then make it a bit flat then let it "cure" for like 2 minutes the stick whatever i want to. after sticking the items i sprinkle some fine aragonite or fine crushed coral or even sand to the exposed putty to give it a more natural look.

    Bought mine on special at hardware for R35, so i bought 5 and still paid half the price of the geisemann putty. i must however add that i bought a 75ml bottle of Ecotech Cg Coral glue from @Perky pets superstore, it is quick and easy to use with no mess and it really goes a long way.. i went Bos with bottle when i glued the frags i have for sale and still looks like it hasn't been used. @R298.95 was a good deal as well.

    Aquamend is the only putty i use, it doesnt crumble like pratleys, and seems to stick a lot better

    Current Prices :
    Putty..
    Alcolin Aquamend = R 75.00 / 57g = 1.35 cents/gram - Brights Hardware
    Gieseman Aquaputy = R229 / 57g = 4.1 cents/ggram - LFS

    Glue..
    Pattex Super Glue Gel = R33.90 / 3ml = R 11.30/ml - Brights Hardware
    Ecotech Cg Coral Glue = R298.95 / 75ml = R 3.99/ml - LFS

    there is a comparison for both..
