Aiptasias

    Hi Guys

    Do Aiptasias kill fish... ive had two of my fish dying and only thing i can think of is maybe the one Aiptasias i found in the tank stung them.

    I've never heard of aiptasia killing fish. Were the fish new additions to the tank?

    nope they been in my tank for about 2months both fish were healthy eating and everything. my dad bought a rock with polys on an i spotted this brown maroonish thing on the rock. few days after one of my naso's died and last week my copperban died. water par is correct. all my other fish is perfectly fine

    Never heard of this either ...and I have HUGE aptasia (ask th ePTA RC guys ;)), doesnt sound like aptasia either...maybe a pic could help

    Or this could be un-related

    eish... i wonder what it was then just very strange that one minute the fine going crazy for the food and then next min they in a corner struggling to breath

    Copperband fish are very risky fish and normally die in our tanks unfortunately, so I wouldn't worry too much about why that one died.

    Sometimes these things happen and it's difficult to explain, keep an eye on your other fish, if you have any other problems then something is wrong in the tank, your water may be out of whack, you could have a mantis shrimp etc. etc.

    Do any of your tangs fight at all?

    the dominate one is the one that died so after him no fighting at all.ill do another test after my water change i do every second week
