    Hi All

I don't have a thread of my existing tank but decided with the upgrade taking place that its time that I start a thread of it.

The dimensions of the new tank are 1.8*0.8*0.8. The 3 viewing sides are starfire (low iron, or whatever its called). Stand is made from 50mm square tubing and had it galvanised. Stand height is 0.95.

I have attached some pics of the build so far and of my current 5 foot (which will go on sale as soon as the new one has been setup ;))

Looking good... What glass thickness you using for this tank? Is it going to be a rimless tank?

Hi Ahmed 1477, did you choose the dept. of the the of the tank for more variety of fish to put in your tank, and bigger fish.

    Nice size tank.
What lights are you going to use on it, it seems deep so you will need somethimg penetrating deep.

Have you decided on your filtration method?

My current tank is 1.5(l)*0.78(h)*0.5(w). I prefer a tank with more depth and therefore decided to go with the dimensions I did. Currently I have the below fish in the system (most of the fish grew quite large since I have them so they would need a bigger home:

    1 x Sailfin tang
    1 x Yellow tang
    1 x Powder blue
    1 x Lipstick tang
    1 x Regal tang
    1 x Tennenti tang
    1 x Bicolor angel
    1 x Coral beauty
    2 x Percs
2 x Mandarins (male & female) (some how got them to eat pellets!!)

I am planning on using the same lights on the new tank as on the existing tank i.e. 8 x 54w T5's. Planning to scape the new tank with two islands directly under the lights and place light demanding corals higher up. Will probably upgrade to LED's at a later stage.

My current sump is set fairly simple and was planning on using the same sump on the new system. First chamber has the skimmer, carbon and phosguard reactor and feeder pump to nitrate reductor. Second chamber contains the DSB and final chamber the return pump with the auto topup connected via a kalk reactor.
