So you got 6.6 kg new live rock, fresh from LFS in the tank.

Added 1 kg established rock from another stable system.

The cycle will not be that much faster. Remember in that 6.6kg new rock, you got dead copepods and sponges and whatever. the more porous the more things could be inside that is dead. That dead things must still get time to decompose, and to be eaten. Yes sure adding 1kg established rock will help in migration organisms to the new rock. To populate it faster. But you will still have a cycle. Maybe faster, maybe not. Depending on quality of new rock and on how many things are dead inside.

So, check the ammonia levels, before adding fish or corals.

you can add the live sand, and the stability to speed Mother Nature up. Something that must rot away, can only rot away at a certain rate. You can only turbo boost Mother Nature that much. Else she will turn around an bite you with Zombies walking around. Patience. Nothing good happens fast.

Check the ammonia levels. Before adding the fish and corals

Ok...maybe I'm reading this wrong...:confused1:..you are putting in LR every week...? If that's the case then arn't you prolonging you'r Cycle..?..I would say put them all in one time as it's my understanding that...and I quote..
If something rots away..say..4weeks...then why start the "rotting process" over every week...all you are ending up doing, is adding +-4weeks to the last piece of LR added..?..or have I read this wrong...

Ok...I follow now...sorry for not understanding....I see you are moving from one to the other...ok..I think you might be right as I'm clueless to the "1 tank to other Tank" scenario......I guess when the last piece goes in, the Ammonia spike, if any, won't be so great...but the flip-side...that would still leave you with no LR in the small Tank when you move the last LR..ok..maybe that is why you are using the Additives so that the last LR and fish can go together...?...hmmmm I definately need to follow as I'll be finding myself in a similar position soon...

He is moving (or want to) established rock from his other system over to the new system. There would be no cycle problems from those rocks.

If you can have both tanks running at once, I'd rather let the new rock cycle properly in the new tank and then add all the matured rock fom the old tank over at once.

Yes. Taking out a kg or two of liverock from your current tank might be detrimental to your livestock and may not benefit your cycle at all. So cycle new tank with new rock, and the mature piece if you've already added it, then once the cycle is over, match your tanks parameters and move the liverock and livestock across to the new tank.

Searchem stability is good, but I do prefer microbe lift special blend.
Don't count your cycle by weeks, rather go on the parameters. Depending on how much dead stuff comes on the rock, the cycle could be longer/shorter.

Once cycle is done, you can add all the liverock and livestock. Just make sure you acclimatize the livestock properly to the new tank.
