    Hi guys.

    Really need some help.

I have just ordered my first marine tank and really excited about it:yeahdude:.

The tank is a 5ft tank holding about 640lts and I dont have much space under the dt for sump. The guy at the shop is selling me a queen ts 2000 because of the size under the tank. Based on what i have read that skimmer is to small for that size tank. I would like to have a reef tank with fish and corals.

What Skimmer would you recommend for that size tank?
Im not really keen on a external skimmer.

    Regards,

    Paul

    hi paul, firstly welcome

i would personally say you should be looking at a TS3 in that range. they are very effiecient skimmers and have performed well in the past.

in time as your needs grow you can research a better skimmer if needed.

Hey mate! Does your tank sit on a stand or a cabinet? If its a stand then I would suggest getting a higher stand. ITs best to sort this out now before the tank is started.

Also how big is your sump tank? This water volume must also be included in the overall system volume. You will need a skimmer rated for around 1200L

Hi, if you are ordering a marine tank you should get a sump suitable for the size tank, as mentioned above the skimmer must have enough space. You want to be able to work on things in your sump and not have a space limitation when getting things in and out of the sump.

Go with a reef Octopus xtreme skimmer. It's not too tall and can handle the amount of water in your tank
