Hi all

Was lucky enought this weekend to be given a 1200m tank with matching stand and hood with sump(complete set up). Did not want to use the substrate so just wanted to know if putting play sand in the display is fine as dont have the $ for aragonite now so here we go five months into the hobby of marine and upgrading already.:yeahdude: :slayer:

That sounds AWESOME Pete! Looking forward to follow your journey with this tank! Now you must just get a TS1 or TS2 ReefTek skimmer, and then you can have a really decent tank!

BTW: you can use Reggie's Playsand in your tank's sump, rather than aragonite, if you prefer!

You can definitely put Reggie's Playsand in the display tank as well, if you prefer.....

Yes - Pete - the sand from Toys-R-Us is perfect! Just remember that you will have to rinse it QUITE a few times!

OK- so just go slow with the stocking until you can add a skimmer that will be able to really handle the load......

The playsand is fine for your tank, but you will have to wash it extensively, even though it says "washed" on the bag.

Any joy on getting a pic of the skimmers?
