    Hey guys..
As some of u know i love my LPS corals and recently added a plate coral.Well all went well, coral was eating healty and "Relaxing" very nice.
    Now the sad part.
I have a African Clown so one day he decided to "Throw" substrate all over my plate.Since then the plate's mouth retracted comletely and is now beginning to die..I didnt wanna put it on the rock because i heard that they dont do so well on the rocks..

So what advice can anyone give me with regards to this...As putting it on the substrate is not really a option because the clown always freakn "throw's" the substrate around..

Please guys any advice would be very much appreciated as i want to get a plate again..

    Thanx in advance..

    Armand
    :(

Dont think it will die from that, they generally shake off sand themselves. Maybe try putting it on a heap of fine pebbles and having small rocks around it to stop it from moving?

They can float off rocks or cut themselves, so not the best idea, but some people glue them to small rocks as well.

The thing is that the mouth was open at the time as I was feeding...So I suspect that some substrate got into the mouth...but gow do they glue it to the rocks because mine was completely coverd with 'meat' even under the coral..

Do you have a picture of the coral?

    What are your water parameters?

How long have you had it?
They pretty good at getting rid of sand. Even sand in the mouth doesnt seem to bother them.

A pic will help. Plates are extremly hardy and have been known to regrow form even the smallest amount of tissue.
Can you move it to a side of the tank that the clown doesnt normally go to?

and it still goes around the tank often? They generally leave the place they host in to find food. How often do you feed your clown?

So not the typical nervous scout scout back clown. lol Sure someone on the forum will take him off your hands if he causes too many probs with plate corals.
