Hi Reefers!
I'm planning on setting up a RedSea Reefer 425xl and am worried that my floor may not be strong enough to take the weight. The tank with the water, rocks and sand will probably come out to about 450kg to 470kg by my calculations. I live in one of the older buildings in Illovo, Johannesburg, on the third floor, and there is concrete under my parquet wooden floors.
I'm sure there are several things to consider but seeing as this is the first time I'm setting up a tank that is not on the ground floor, I've never had to really think too much about my tanks weight. Any advice on how to think this one through and make sure I'm not about to cause any structural damage to my apartment (etc)?
Thanks in advance!
