Has anyone used the SAGA two float ATO unit? I am having difficulty finding any reviews on it. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Carlos. I phoned you about a year ago about DIY vs RSM 130. Couldn't convince my wife I could make a DIY project look good enough to fit with her interior decorating. We have reached a "compromise" and I just got a RSM 250. I'm happy as a pig in shirts! Now I need to get salt, RO/DI, chiller, ATO, substrate, live rock, new heater, testers etc. Thanks for the advice back then. I'm going to try and stay away from modifying the system as I am apparently "terrible" at DIY.

Howdy! LOL, I am also terrible with DIY! Congrats on the RSM, perfect system for someone who just wants a plug and play and I am glad you are adding a chiller, The RSM tend to get pretty hot in the middle of summer. Let us know how it goes, start a thread about your tank and take lots of pics.

Will do, at the moment it's dry as a bone. Will start a thread as soon as I have water in it.

SAGA is a great brand, over looked sometimes, but they are really hardy and I consider them to be work horses, no fancy computers, just good ol' electronics that keep on going.

I got 2 of those units. For me, its the best out there. You set the time to 1, 2 or 3 minutes on mode B. If the water level does not reach the top switch, then it just switches off.
Mode B is where the switches are next to each other in your return chamber.

Mode A is where one float is in your return chamber, and the other monitor that you do not run your RO container empty. This is to protect your ATU pump. Do not use this setting as it is not needed. On mode B, the system will shut down within the specified minutes when the top float is not reached, as would be the case when your RO drum is empty. The pump will not burn out within 3 minutes, unless it is some really crappy Chinese Fong Kong pump.

Only problem I have with it is that the alarm could have been louder. Cannot ask my dad to tank sit my system, he cannot hear it, but then again, he only hears what he want to hear.

Overall, I'm happy with the unit. DIY would be cheaper, but then you need to factor in the timers and dual floats.

Thanks RiaanP. I got the unit and I have been playing with it. I have a space issue with the RSM 250. So I'm thinking of using mode A with a single float and the time delay in case the float gets stuck before it reaches the top and switches the pump off.
