@Graham 1234 - thanks for the info. My tanks is also running hot, but I don’t want to remove the hood. My stock list include some jumpers. Does the fan make a huge difference. I am considering to DIY a extractor fan into the hood. Maybe two small ones each side of my ZETlight 1201L.

At first I had a chiller running.Allmost the same size as the tank.So decided to get a small fan.Best choice ever.EvaporAtive cooling works well. You loose about a liter of water daily.Just make sure you top off with rodi and not salt water

@Graham 1234 - I’m in Pretoria and my tank is constantly at 28 degrees Celsius. Will really look into the fans to try and cool the tank down. At 28 degrees Celsius my snails are not going to live long at all.

I will have to look into computer like fans that will fit into the hood. Will see what is available, but not in a rush as we are heading for autumn now so temperatures will be coming down slowly. Might even have to switch on the heater at the end of next month.

    Added a Tunze 6020!

Gives a nice flow throughout the tank.

I am currently looking at options to get the temp down.

The T5’s with canopy get really hot.

Reading your post with interest - bought the same tank used , replaced the hood for 1500 only to realize could’ve bought a new one for less...then saw a zetlight on this forum for less than I paid for the hood ...so my inexperience and immaturity with marine will certainly bite me....
