I took out the Ceramic Rings and I put in 1 litre of Seachem Matrix.

Pink Fiji and nice porous dry liverock.

I am considering replacing the skimmer( with Tunze 9004 ,I think )and lights( with LED . Zetlight 1201 maybe? )

Looking good just watch out for dead spots with that scaping and so much liverock. Maybe look at chopping up the liverock and using stone fix and build a nice scape. I also started with a tank like this and soon realised i did the scaping wrong. One cant add to big flow to much a small tank so one needs to be clever with scaping and placing of liverock

I have the smaller cousin of that tank.. also ran ridiculously hot with lid on... so decided to rather remove it and go with a New light. Still need a hang on fan to cool it down in summer. Fan and heater running off a temp controller

The Tunze 9001 is a little monster skimmer. Its worth the money.I also took the lid off.Using Zetlight 1201l and a fan in summer.I like the Zetlight very good coral growth also the settings are great.I top off about a litre of water daily

The problem I encountered was fitting the Zetlight. The plastic holding the light on the tank is very weak.Used a piece of Perspex to give extra support

@Baberbek - glad things worked out. Now to get the new tank wet.
@Graham 1234 - does the Tunze 9001 fit into the original skimmer compartment, and are you able to close the filter compartment lid with the skimmer in place?

The Tunze has a magnet which you can move up or down

@Graham 1234 - thanks for the reply. Do you have the ZETlight 1201L? If so, please share your setting if possible.
What corals are you keeping in your tank?

Last thing I forgot. You need to add power heads inside the tank for more flow if you are planning to keep corals.I use two Jeboa rw4 and have them on the lowest setting. They are good wave makers for the price

Yes the Zetlight 1201.Basically start at 8 for 1 hour blues then two hours mix colors on low. Then 4 hours full light. Then 2 hours soft and then sunset for 1 hour.I find with that setting I don’t have to much hair algae growing.Have about 60 corals from soft to Montipora.
