    Hi Guys,

I need a bit of help. I am or will be converting my current 4ft tank into the sump as soon as i collect the new one. I just wanted advice on designs and styles that anyone may suggest.

Can you perhaps narrow down your question a bit. Ther countless diferent sump layouts/designs and what would be ideal for you would depend on what you plan to keep, allocated sump space and your budget.
A liitle more info and im sure more people will give their input.

    sorry :(

    sump will be 1200x450x450.
i was thinking 1st section would be return pump 150mm, second section heater10mm, 3rd section dsb sand 650mm, 4th section overflow inlet with protein skimmer 300mm

    Same size

No need for heater chamber, heater can go sideways on back panel over the DSB.

That is where my tank want to be. Its at 7.7 / 7.8 for some months already. And it stays there. So far, being mostly softies and leathers, everything looks fine.

Got one open brain thou, and it started to go backwards. So 3 months ago I did made adjustments with whatever 8.4 supplement. And with more slaked lime in the reactor. Now its between 8.1 and 8.2.

The picture is from before the adjustments.

I did speak to a couple of guys about the low level. And basically if the PH are stable and always stay at the same level, do not worry too much. Over reaction causes more trouble than just letting nature takes its course. Well sometimes we have to slightly help nature into our direction. :) It took 3 months to get it to 8.2
