hey guys , i wanted to get a protein skimmer for my marine tank, its 1.2m and im not running a sump since theres no space in my room. the lady at my lfs said i must put 2 Resun SK‑05 Aquarium protein skimmers in my tank. in this correct? sounds wrong to me. shouldnt i just get a stronger one, so i dont have to run 2 protein skimmers?
    Thanks :)

    hi Ginger and welcome!

the best option would be a hangon skimmer, eighter a reef octopus or rea sea prizm skimmer, they ahould be around the R1300 mark or so
if you look in the classifieds i think there was one for sale

welcome, what kind of system are we talking about here? dimentions of the 1.2m

i would personally look into either the Aqua Medic Tf1000 blue range, Reef octo hang on or the Hydor range...

i googled that skimmer you mentioned and i would say a Jebo is better and a Jebo quite frankly sucks...

i would rather do water changes more frequently than purchase a substandard skimmer...

im assuming the tank is 250lt (if its standard) so a skimmer of 500lt would be my recomendation... that one fits the bill :)

the problem with this is that he would have to stand it level with the water level of the tank as he has no sump to plumb it to..

Reef Octopus Bh2000 or even Bh1000 would be perfect. still think they are awesome hang on skimmers.

Welcome,if you have space for a external skimmer (in my opinion) it will be better than a hang on. With the hang on you have a pump in the tank, with the ext that won't be the case

yep the skimmer will have to stand level or higher than the DT and be fed by a spare pump in the absence of a sump..
