Acropora sprouting polyps experiment under LED lighting

    Hi, I've just moved a rock, very very slowly sprouting acro polyps from one of my tanks.

    I've now moved this rock and paced it under my LED lighting and will keep you guys informed of the growth and maybe convince you all that LED is the way to go.

    Its a really cool experiment, as you will see from the pics now, they are baby polyps and with this thread I will document their growth.

    I will update this thread on an weekly basis with results.

    27.07.2012 - Just place rock under LED lighting, see many small growths from rock.

    remember I showed you this rock ? moved it into my main tank, in full LED light.

    Ya i remember. Looking at all that small polyps and the surface area, that could grow into 1 beautiful colony.

    too true, i'm going to make it my mission, now lets see if my LEDS will grow acro ????
    It is is cool thread to follow, going to update weekly on growth and colour.

    its amazing how hardy sps can sometimes be. I had a pink monti plate come back from the dead before :) ..

    yes, I had a monti that was in my sump rubble, totally white, took the rock into light its now an amazing red monti colony, and the tank was totally new ?

    Update time 2 weeks on!

    Some update after 2 weeks now under LED lighting and seeing steady polyp growth and as you can see more polyps sprouting.
