acro lighting

    Hi I am looking at geting a 650x650x550 cube built water level will be around 500 what lighting will I need to keep acros and other light loving sps I was thinking 1x150w mh and a couple of t5's for colour and sunrise sunset

    A nice 250W, SE metal halide pendant on it's own or coupled with T5's will be more than ideal and allow you to keep just about any acro. The 150W with a couple of T5's for sunrise sunset effect will also work but bear in mind that actinic lights are more for aesthetics and you will only have 150 watts of real useful light which isnt a lot

    Perfect lighting system then. What kelvin halide do you want to use?

    Sounds nice and balanced. What brand of bulbs do you intend using?

    I think BLV mh globes are super cool, I use a 150w 20000k one and I'm very happy with my lighting.
