Ask bryan about resuns that do that ... They have a 2 pin plug that "senses" when 220AC fails then kicks the battery power in ....

Yup this is correct it runs off 220v and charges battery, then when power cuts it switches to backup battery, if the battery fail in 14 hours it can switch to D-size batteries... as far as I know they need to be on permanently and auto switch to backup battery when power cuts but will just confirm this... :)

Right so I've played around with this unit and it's AWESOME...
The best feature is that you can keep the unit on charge and in "standby" mode...so it is off but when the power trips the unit starts and runs off the battery...around 16 hours tested...then when the power returns the unit switches off and starts charging the batteries and continue standby mode.

The second option is to have it on auto switchover or 'always on' mode. The unit runs as normal with a dial to control the air output flow, then when the power trips the unit continues to operate without any interruption whatsoever and resumes charging and stays on when the power returns.

Anyone wishing to see this unit in action we have a demo model on display in the shop!
