    Damn, sorry to hear.
I had an 8ft tank fail in my lounge while I wasn't there.
    It wasn't pretty.
    Almost made me give up.

Can you determine what made the tank fail.
did the top brace come loose?
    did the stand fail?
    did the rockwork collapse?

Always good to establish root cause of failure, so you can prevent it happening again.

Not sure what happen,, yesterday,, my dad added 10 kg of live rock,, changed the scaping,, it seem that it cracked from the bottom upwards ,, right until the top bracing,,but I saw a chip on the top bracing,,

Glass was doubled at the bottom making it 20mm and the front was 12 mm
this is the 2nd time it burst in the last 4 years ,,

Think my dad wana give it up :(,,

AOR how are the blue mushrooms?

my opinion, tank cracked from top to bottom.
If from bottom, there is no way that two cracklines will come together like that. So its from the top down. Glass breaks away from the break / impact point.

Must have nicked the glass yesterday when he added the rock.

    sorry to see and hear.

So sorry to hear. What a bummer. We also had a tank burst beginning of last year. 850/900litres, we had only just started re-stocking so we didnt lose too much livestock, but I know the feeling.

Sad when people get catastrophe's like this in the hobby, try look at the fact that maybe he can rebuild, and improve on what he did not like, all the equipment should be there except the tank, maybe a short break?
