So after a bit more cycling, I plan on starting to add fish into my Boyu TL 550 (128L)

I love my inverts so that rules out a few fish.

The list is as follows :

    1 x Black Percula
    1 x Bicolour Blenny
    2 x Firefish
    2 x Catalina Goby
    1 x Tiger Watchman Goby
1 x White Banded Possum Wrasse

Any problems with this list? Much later on I will have a mandarin, simply must.

Well you can keep 2 i supose but one is then the centre of attention and clowns like having a friend, they like being a pair. So thats my only reason. Dont think they will fight but one purple fire fish would look great.

Haha ok so I will ask him about his story :p

The purple firefish are lovely, pity about the aggression, imagine having a red and purple firefish. That would be awesome!

I will not put a sixline in a nano. Although they are the perfect size fish, they will eat all the little copepods and amphipods. I like to have that diversity as well in the tank. And after all copepods are algae eaters. Seeing that there are not really a lot of fish grazers suitable for a nano tank I would rather not have copepod predators either. Or what else will keep algae growth under control?

I agree about the diversity, a blend of many different creatures is the only way to go if you are limited in size. A school of chromis would just not tickle my fancy.

Algae growth is no problem, I absolutely love inverts. I have my 2 peppermints, 2 cleaner shrimp, 2 neritas grazer snails, porcelain crab, 2 dwarf hermit crabs and sexy shrimp. I plan on getting another 2 sexies and an emerald crab for macro.

    :)

    So list possibility update.

    2 x Black Percula
    1 x Firefish
    1 x Tiger Watchman Goby
1 x White Banded Possum Wrasse (if available)

So I have been told about the possibility of having a dwarf angel, I am skeptical due to there size. I would not want a fish stressed due to space restrictions.:(

Just my two cents here. If you really want to get a pair of firefish, there is a way.
Place a large snail house in the tank where your favourite LFS keeps the firefish.
When two firefish disappear together into the shell, just take out the shell and put it into a bucket and then home. It might take a day or so until two decide to get together. LFS should be more inovative when it comes to pairing up species. One always can sell a pair for a few bucks more than two singles.

    BTW, I did exactly that!
