I did my first fill with tap water, added about 40kg of uncured live rock and let it cycle for about 3 months.
Did a fairly large water change (about 30%) just before starting to stock with corals
Never had any problems that I noticed, nothing that I have not seen happen with anyone using RO water on start-up i.e. diatoms and a little cyano. Never got any hair algae at all during my cycle.
