one empty 90L, but now I'm in Sandton

Go to plasticland, get yourself a plastic 42L tub, get one that is almost see thru. So you can see the fish move around, and he can almost see you. At least they do not get so big a freight when you suddenly comes into view as in a black tub. They see you coming.

hi guys, think the mods can delete this thread. the fishy has gone to heaven.

think there might be alot of reasons, but i now think i will wait to mature my system a bit. think that is the main reason for this disaster.

does fish also go to heaven like dogs ?

    Nope, that's about it.

Take it slow. Maybe even 8 weeks. Just let the tank do it's thing. When you add fish, do you add the Pet Shop water to the tank as well?

Nope... fish don't go to heaven! They go under... deep, deep under... the ocean, to the the warm tropical reef, where there are no snorkelers with catch nets....

Powder Blue's are the devil when it comes to WS. I had 2 and they infected all my fish! If you have another tang it becomes even worse.

    Just a note of caution!

You must start quarantining your fish other wise you will loos your tank agen

5 weeks are fine white spot can only live for 4weeks(28 days) on the bottom of a tank
But only if there are no fish in your tank

Push up your water temperature to 28, now that the tank got no fish. That will speed up the whitespot cycle and ensure that you have no cysts that eventually break out after 4 weeks. Optimal temperature for whitespot is 30. So do not if you have fish, push the temp up. As you are only benefiting the whitespot. But as your tank do not have any hosts at the moment, I can suggest it without a doubt.

I will keep on posting this pic, so that we all get to know our enemy

Thirty days is more than enough to see the cycle through. Higher temperatures will speed up the process

That would be correct .... acclimatise them and then net them and throw away the acclimatised water as you never know what nasties are in the mixed water .... nothing against any pet shop but your fish may not have the neccessary antibodies to fight of something in their water
