Here we go again, I've started this nano so many times before and not finished it, so now I'm determined to get it going. :p

Here it is in it's current form, it's been running like this with nothing but a chaeto ball in it for about 6 months.

I have ordered my LED's and they will be here on Tuesday.

I have dug out a couple of my test kits from the garage so will do some tests and post the results.

    Temp is 25
    Salt content is 1.026 (that's for @Nemos Janitor :p)

I'm going to put a blue background on it I think.

Here is a pic of the ugly thing...

I will try and post daily updates and pics as I progress. My current plan so far, although that's bound to change :p, is green and purple plating monti's, a pink hystrix, two pipefish, a fluffy gorgonian and maybe a kenya tree.

But first, I need to buy some liverock, going to get some from 2 or 3 different sources.

In the tank so far is a 150w Jager heater, a DIY auto top-up, a modified Tunze 6025 nano stream and a Hydor slimskim nano skimmer.

Looking good there @viper357, I agree blue background would look nice. Why not go full sps?

Thanks, but I don't want this tank to be too high maintenance. I'm a lazy reefer. :p

Not high maintenance, then rather go for black background. One less panel to keep clean.

    Did 3 tests

    2014-08-09 10.32.41.jpg

    MG - 1230
    KH - 7.3
    CA - 480

Not too bad, will increase MG a bit to about 1350. Will get my Nitrate and Phosphate tested at the lfs.

Splashed out and bought a rock today.

    2014-08-10 13.14.51.jpg

It had about 4 red mushrooms on it at the lfs, think they're camera shy at the moment.

Lights are arriving on Tuesday so pics should look a bit better then, lol. At the moment there's a led grow bulb on there, got one red led, one yellow led and one white led. A whole 6w of led power.

Shoh. You really went crazy on the spending!

Looks like some nice corraline growth, though, adding a nice background to the mushroom.

lol. :p I want to buy 3 or 4 small pieces of rock from different shops for a bit of biodiversity. I have bucketloads of dry rock in the garage, so I just need a bit of seed rock for now. Need to look for some nice dry pieces to try and make a half decent aquascape, which I am totally useless at.

Let your kids' imaginations run wild, and let them loose on the scaping :) Then you can claim innocence if you (or the picaholics on here) do not like it.
