dude 150w will be your best bet, even if you do get the fittings Aqarium rated bulbs are not a regular occurance in SA.

I can remember Dorry Pets organised some 70w MH's for a member a while ago, give them a call, maybe they can still get them.

dale.....take a step back and put down the 150w metal halide right now!

Lol seriously dude i need to get rid of my 150w as i need a 400w for my new tank but honestly i dont suggest you use it for such a small tank...;)

there is such a thing as too much light and i bleached two sps colonies in my 40lt with this 150w(ok one was actually rtn) i would suggest for that size tank go online there are actually energy savers with a dual colour i.e half actinic and half white.they are around 15w if i'm not mistaken....two of these mounted together with proper reflectors and you can keep sps sufficiently lit in that size tank.they normally go for around $34 or so.

LED's could work though depending on exact specs...around 6 cree xpg's would work.what do you have in mind led wise?

Oh and just bare in mind that keeping a pico stable enough for sps is possible but takes alot of time and effort and testing as things change quite rapidly in that small body of water.
