    Hi all

Already got so much going, BUT then got a phone call from a friend and he's going away.
So got this from him. Was used for fresh water fish.

How old is the tank? What thickness glass does it have?

the canister filter wont really work on a marine set up. It can be done but it is really difficuilt. The best would be to run a sump

    Hi Toni

I know this tank since it was first silicone, now almost 1 1/2year old and its 10mm glass, no leaks and even the aluminum stand that I was worried about hold the tank with water and plenty of rocks in it, the canopy is crap lol.

The canister can be used on return chamber in sump with charcoal and phosphate remover even ammonia remover.

I hav a tank with exactly the same dimensions! It's perfect! Just make sure the guy you baught it from didn't use any medics with copper in it could become a problem. It's a great tank and has allot of potensial!

    Lol Z

You see there is the problem "drilling" maybe one day he wants it back.
Was thinking extending the 2 long and 1 short panel upward about 10cm and use the one side for an overflow box, so 4 cuts of 120 x1800 x10mm and 2x 100x1800x10m and then the short side 2 cuts 120x 600x 10mm and 1 cut 100x600x10mm (not accurate measurements but an idea)

great size tank to use:) lots of options for scaping and anice sized tank for fish like tangs etc which like big swimming spaces:)

i woulkd seriously think about drilling an overflow, a siphon can work but blockages and breakes in the the siphon would give me lots of stress. also if your mate wants the tank back he could use the overflow and a sump for bath water, or better still u could convert him\her over to the dark arts:)

Cool a predator tank.... Just remember eels are slippery characters - If you gonna keep them you have to "seal" the tank as best as possible or you will find them sitting on the floor waiting for tea and biscuit! Remember they can be out of water for over an hour so they know that and are extremely intelligent so they will try to escape

yip, there is no way to escape my tank, lol still working on it, just wish the tank is a bit wider, maybe should shell it and build a new 250cm L x 80cm H x 100cm W, I saw some nice big rocks here to fit in there with sea moss covering and then fill the bottom with regonite, think that will look cool, big rocks and white regonite, but still thinking about it, going to take my time on this one.

    I think you meen argonite;).
If you are willing to I think it's a great idea the bigger tank, the bigger the better!
80cm high is a little to high I think you'll need a heck of a light for that depth...
