    Hi all,

Since I shut my 900 cube I have been having salt water withdrawal symptoms.
My fish and corals went to Frans for a long holiday in Hermanus.

I’m still looking for a house to buy, so the monster tank is not up yet.
My wife and daughter areq missing our fish, so I decided to setup my 650 x 650 cube that will end up being a QT at a later stage.

The tank will be run without a sump, will do 20% water changes weekly with lots of bacteria dosing.

For now I will run one Tunze 6105 in the tank with a HOB skimmer. Lights is still a big surprise, so you will have to wait!

    Time Line:

13:00 collected 200L water at 2 oceans aquarium
    15:30 start stand build
20:00 transport stand and tank to my house
    21:00 wash sand
22:00 start to fill the tank
23:00 found a leak in the overflow :(
00:00 installed heater and small flow pump.

I will seal the overflow again today and see if I can compete the fill tomorrow evening.

Going to visit Perky Pets this morning to buy some LR so I can get this baby rocking!

Will post some more later today!

    Cool man.
    Looks good!!!

Before you fill the tank and make it a permanent setup take the stand to get powder coated...
You don't want to take the tank apart again in a couple of years to replace the stand....

Hi Quintin, did give the tank a coating of Hammeright, so should be fine for a few years :) This tank will end up as a QT in the next few months, all LS will be transferred to my big tank.

Will do the powder coat at a later stage!
    Thanks for the pointer!

Going to seal the overflow now, then I will upload new pics.
PS. How long before I can fill the tank? Should I give the silicone 24h to cure?

    Thanks Michael B,

Another thing that you all might have noticed is that the tank is only 550mm from the floor.
Why? Well my little one is only 9 month old and love the little fish. So I wanted the tank to be accessable for her, she can stand up next to it and enjoy all the life in the tank!!

The other thing is that I love to view a tank from above, this way I can stand and stare from above :)

Well, did my stare from above thing again, and guess what I found:

1 Aptaisia (he is dead now)
    2 little brittle stars

David also gave me a piece of LR with 2 shrooms :)

Just a thought , seeing that you want to see from above , and low water level , why dont you use some pratleys and make an interesting shape with the LR , 5 kg's wont be heavy if you need to take it out when we do your big setup ;)

Jip, just got the LR in to start the cycle. Still going to add some of my dead LR to the tank. Busy curing it as we speak. Still want to get another 10kg's from Perky, best LR I have seen a while! Alive with critters!
