I am looking for powerheads for my new 1.8m tank...

    Should I go for 4 x M1500 (6000L/h) or 1 x 22ML (22000L/h)

Another option is 2 x M1100 (one each side) + 22ML in the centre...

Has the problems mentioned with the 22ML been sorted out yet?

Please let me know what you think or sugest... I would love the vortech... bet they are a bit pricey for me. :)

I would suggest the polario, will be more pleasing to the eye and saves valuable space in the tank, There is no need to worry about flow because its a decent pump with awesome flow.

but only to the left and right of the tank. if its at the back of the tank and the tank is 60 wide and 1.8 long i dont think it will be very good on its own

Mine is 1.5 long and 800 wide.
I am hoping the polario with the 2x M1500 will give me enough movement and cover most areas.

It will also depend on your scaping I presume.

Only getting mine in 2 weeks time, wo will then be able to give you some feedback.

That will work , the M1500 can be placed in area's that might have dead spots

remember with the polario u are limited to where u can put it and unless u have a very low open scape and a tank that it not very long you will have lotsa dead spots. its a great pump but u need to understand the limitations(as with any flow pump) that come with it, and the type of scaping that you need to have to get the full benefit from it.

Polario 22L are good can be a tiny bit noisy! I would have it running when your lights are on and off the rest of the time if you can afford to put a few other flow pumps in?
My 2.7M has one as well as a few sun sun 12000L x3 and this is working like a chalm!

    Thanks for all the replies!!

I am leaning towards the 1 x 22ML and 2 x M1500's, this should be nice for the tank...

@ brentv - how noisy is noisy... is it the pump, the controller or both?
