Your sunpower - couple of things to check that aren't so obvious that might be letting it run at less than optimum output.
The label end of all the tubes are on the "closed end" ?
You've got the perpex pushed right in on that "closed end" ?
What voltage you have the fans running at? ,too much or too little will reduce output - think i ran 9v

Hey 2una, Perspex is closed...tubes ends were all mixed...and think my fans are 9v

I really do love my ATI man but even at full power it will not overcome the depth....

So I have reviewed Orphek, Radions G3 Pros and G4 Pros and the ATI Sirus and after a very long, stressful week, think I have settled on the G4 Pros!

At the cost of these, I need 6 units but will start with 4 and then add extra 2 when I can.

I will update the thread as soon as I receive the stuff ;)

Okay, i missed you were also 1m wide as well so 1 unit would be a push for that reason i suppose.
You going to throw the sunpower off or do it this way, looking end on - radion sunpower radion ?.
With the G4's you probably going to have to run it Sanjays way of all colours on 100% to get the par down to depth.
I'm running 1 light at close to 100% power down one end of my tank on something like a AB+ setup with greens/reds/cool white low & its only just getting the job done 600mm under the G4,they pro versions also. (i do have a screen cover blocking back some par tho)

2una - I have made the decision! Finally....:)

Going with the Radions G4 Pro's - I am thinking of removing the ATI as I will not be able to fit them either side. So thinking of running a single rail across the 1.8M and have 4x Radions initially (single units positioned with one cluster in front and other at the at the back) - This would cover 39' which is about 900mm Not too worried about this as I have about 200 all round the tank before rock work starts. If i then ave the 4 units (crossed rail) positioned evenly over the 1.8 length of the tank... it should provide sufficient cover initially.

I will then add 2 when the corals grow out in a couple of months for more light...;)

    You think this will work?

I guess that should work ok - 1 thing maybe to do some asking on would be as your looking to gain advantage to get more depth would the HEI optics on the G4's be the better way to head into or would maybe the G3's with their standard optics not maybe be better with what is I THINK a narrower lense.
I think the TIR lense mod were 120 degree so the standard must be something less than that on the G3
What you can read on that coral lab pdf & their heights above water & resulting par i don't see mention that they are on anything different than standard G3 lens there.
Just something else to chew on but i don't think they have them here available - what about 3 rows of 4 x xr15's - same as 6 xr30's but you can shuffle them apart a bit more.
I got 4 x xr30's on 1.55m length tank but i'm pretty much filled in, 3 would be okay for a while if the tank was not so packed.

Thank 2una - I considered the G3 for that exact reason yet on the PAR test, given the G4 at 190w vs G3 at 170w, gives you significantly stronger light plus the benefit of it being spread better due to the new lense.

The only thing now is to put them up and see what the outcome is. Order placed! No turning back now ....

So....I have to admit, I have idle fingers  I cannot help it but have to fiddle... so now I have decided to ad some more depth to my tank...

I have basically 2 islands and about 300mm wasted space at the back of them (towards the wall).
I would like to add a Centre Piece between them that will provide depth and height...

lol!!! Good luck with your rock scaping project!
Personally I would have built on the other two islands and left the middle because I like the negative space but your idea has so much more options available because you can add a more interesting structure and, of course, more corals!
Take lots of pics when you are building it!

Also like the empty space - bearing in mind that this will go behind the 2 islands....I am building a structure from PVC (stand)...will cover with LR....as I also don’t want to displace too much water nor restrict the flow at the back....

Ok...what a day! And I DO apologize for the profound language used during the process

Was a long day and managed to find most of the pieces I destroyed in the effort of getting this done! Lost 2 prized Ricordias - just gone :cursing: and knocked a couple of frags that I just cannot find!!

Well.... pissed with myself for the losses but Pleased with the transformation :slayer:

Now my light is all the way up to the ceiling

Let me know what you think!

That is a masterpiece. Really a good job. Now there are some more options for coral placement
