    hi George

is it possible to pair 2 x Turbelle nanostream 6025 with a Boyu JX-10 Intermittend Switch, I would obviously love the multi-controller but it is out of my price range. I am looking to use the switch to run one power head from one side of the tank for an amount of time and then the other pump from the other side of the tank to mimic the tides.

do you think the pumps will handle this switch or would i damage them using this?

I have a 250L Red Sea Max tank.

sims i think dizzy is referring to the switchin on and off of the pumps.

Dizzy the 6025 is not an electronic pump so switching it on and off frequently will shorten the life span of the pump.

you can buy a normal digital timer if you want and have one pump on at a time to kind of simulate the tides if you want. i Dont think the 6025s or those non-controllable pumps are able to run on controllers, even if its just to turn them on or off. George can correct me on this. If you have one each on a timer, and set them one to go one for about 5 and a half hours, then turn the other on so they both run for half an hour, then turn the first one off for 5 and a half hours.... get my point? it looks nice in the tank and is one hell of a detritus remover :)

It probably could be done but as Scuba said it may eventually damage the pump, besides, when I switch my 6025's off and on again they have a rather annoying habit of running in reverse sometimes and I have to place my hand over them to get them to run properly.

    Hello

Under no circumstance should any Turbelle Sream pump be paired on any other make other than a 1079/1076 controller. You will damage your pumps beyond repair and then forfeit your gaurantee.

A on off timer is allowed as long as the interval period is more than 10 minutes

I was thinking of an hour each way, but if it is going to damage the pumps then I would rather not do it and save up for vortech pumps.

I can't find any info on these controllers George, did you perhaps mean the 7091?

Does Tunze make an on/off controller for the 6025's?

Sorry Viper not for those. It is better to get 6055's and controll exactly what you want from 1000l/h to 5500l/h with a 7096 controller

you will eventually buy Tunze because your vortech ( good Pump yes sir ) is limmited to a linear flow only.

George : what pump from tunze would you recommend then? I would like something that is semi controllable not just "ON" all the time. I'm also looking at upgrade-ability since i wont always have a small 250l tank.

Well since funds are a problem for a 250l tank and a eye for a future upgrade I would look at a 6105 (3000l/h to 13000l/h) electronic stream without controller for now, the reason being you can slow it down for your 250litre tank with the jumper that comes with it that fits into the power supply. as funds become available you then can buy a controller and add another 7 streams to the same controller. with the unique magnetic holder that comes with all streams you can point the direction of the floww to wherever you want it to go.
