    hi guys

just in the planning stages for my new tank, its dimensions are 75cm x 75cm x 40cm but would 1 mp40 be better than 2 mp10's?

    thanks

and also can they interact with each other if they aren't the wireless versions as they are much more expensive?

What is the thickness of your tank?

    The MP10 is rated for:
Max Tank Thickness: 0.375 inches (9.5 mm)

and the MP40 is rated for:
Max Tank Thickness: 0.75 inches (19 mm)

Although my system only needed the MP10, because of 12mm glass (instead of 10mm I asked for) and the black perspex backing, my total thickness ensures I need the MP40.

From a flow perspective 2x MP10's is better than one, you will have fewer dead spots, with one I am constantly shifting my MP10 from one side of my tank to the other to stop detrius build up... I was amazed at how strong these little buggers actually are, so depending on your stocking plans 2x MP10's will do a great job!

But from a long term potential to upgrade getting the bigger pump now may save you in the long run....MP40 is a super strong pump, so if its set right will also do the job, albeit with the odd dead spot...

What do you want to keep in that system, because other than with sps with no gravel media, the mp40 is going to be way too powerful? Turning it right down is kind of a waste in my opinion.

hi... it would be able to work on a 10mm? as the mp40's are MUCH more expensive and really don't want to turn it to the lowest power if it isn't necessary as AfricaOffroad already stated.

this system is going to be a mixed reef with sps hopefully as well

really don't want to have to buy it and then not use it to the best of its abilities

    thanks

    Or :
    2 x*Turbelle nanostream 6055
    1 x Multicontroller*(7096.000)

Then you can add two more pumps oneday.

I'm set on the 2 vortechs as they have nice modes and they are the so sleek and no wires in the tank which is my goal...
