150w to 250w light pendant mod

    i am wanting to modify my 2 x 150w and 2 x 54w T5 aquamedic lighting pendant to a 2 x 250w + T5 is there anything other than the hailide lamp holders and the balasts i would need to change in order to achieve this? i am also looking at trying to sorce 2 x small 220v fans for cooling.. anyone done this before?

    Nothing else to worry about Les. Check at an electrical shop, usually you will pick up small 220V fans from there.

    Leslie - where (and at what cost) are you sourcing the starter gear from, for 250 watt's? Are you also going Single Ended or Double Ended? Please keep this thread up to date with this venture - I would LOVE to see how you do this - step-by-step? (As I have the EXACT same lighting unit).

    S&R Electronics or Powertran would have the 220V fans, but they are not cheap, especially Powertran.

    this is the unit but from what i remember when i opened it to clean it would be a simple exchange of the balast... the hardest part being sorcing the DE 250w Lamp holder...

    Leigh has lamp holders
    - I did the opposite to you 250 to 150 just lamp holder and balast changed same cap, wires and ignitors used.

    I have all the gear you will need, you should only have to change the lampholders and ballasts - give us a shout
