    Hi there everyone

I was planning a 1200*600*600 tank but unfortunately moved into an apartment and just dont have the space, bit of a pity. Im now planning a 600* 450*450 or round about that size. There are two light units that I'm interested in but would just like some advice from you guys.

I don't know the brand name but they are metal halide HQI ( dont know what that actually means) and the LFS has a 150w and a 70w. The 150w has a 14000K or 20000K bulb (cant remember:biggrin:) and the 70w is a 10000K bulb.

I want to mainly keep soft corals or LPS. Actually mainly like zoa's, mushrooms etc...
What would you guys suggest? I will be building this tank up slowly.

Go for the 150W 14000K bulbs as they are a nice balance between white and blues light. You're going to battle to get 75W bulbs so leave those alone. The better lighting will also allow you to keep other corals should you want to shift your focus

I have a very similar sized tank which had 4 x 24w T5 tubes on, I removed all of these T5's and replaced them with a 14000K 70w Metal Halide, although it does work I somehow feel that there is insufficient light and I think I would have preferred a 150w instead, but then again there is the heat issue to think of as well with a 150w. I have zoa's, mushrooms and an Acropora SPS coral on the sandbed, they seem to be happy.
