    Hello Everybody,

I started my journey into marines a few months back. It began with collecting items off the forum that I would need for my conversion from Freshwater as well as reading and trying to understand how the various systems work.

4 foot planted was sold and 3 foot was converted into a sump. I picked up a lovely 4 foot on this forum from @mrgert (thanks for the great deal)
Amazingly, I was able to follow the progress of this tank from being built by @Slagter on the 22/02/2010 to the sale and purchase by @Ishtak until his spanish siesta sale on this forum.

    Tank cleaned up

Liverock has been cycling for over 3 weeks while I was busy getting the 4ft setup. Tank is in place at the moment. Took most of the weekend to set it up, plumbing, sump and getting drenched once or twice as well. Overflow has been covered with a blue perspex. I have the same for the back. Lighting will be an Aqua Medic 8 x 54w T5 Unit.
Water is in and I am adding salt slowly to get salinity up.

Will update with more pics as I go along. Comments welcome

    Nice size.

Congratz on the move. I too jumped ship and can't be happier.
    Be patient.

    And enjoy the journey.

Attempted an aquascape with the rock I have, and began filling the aragonite. Will play around until I am somewhat happy. I got half way adding the sand and couldnt see into the tank anymore. This morning it cleared up somewhat so I emptied the rest of the sand into it. Going to collect some cheato the weekend to add to the sump. Fortunately I have a few single T5 units from before that I can use over the sump.

Luckily I added a ball valve to the return line because the pump is draining the return chamber. I can now control it better.

    Some pics at various stages.

Tank has cleared up beautifully. I had an issue with my airpump that is connected to the skimmer so decided to get another skimmer and found a Bubble Magus Curve 5 for a good price.

System is running well, sorting out all the small issues that turn up. Would like to setup my ATU this weekend and neaten the cabinet and sump up. I really need to make a plan with my lights. The unit just barely fits on top of the hood, a small bump and it will probably fall in. I do not want to hang them and they didn't come with the mounting legs.

Will try DIY something to the hood if I cant find the legs.

A pair of Blue/Green Chromis also call the place home but they move too fast to get a pic. Learning as I go along and making a few mistakes. Will post a few pics of the sump soon.

    Any and all comments welcome.

I am aware of the temp. It was fluctuating quite alot during the day with lights on. I picked up a STC-1000 from @Ebi Omer and connected it up last night.

Hoping things will be abit more stable.
