    Hi Everyone,

I was curious and am interested to know what are your top 5 or top 10 aquarium essential accessories?

By this I don't mean accessories like Skimmers, heaters and flow pumps, I mean stuff like this:

    1. A mechanical extension grabber, can move decorations and plants without getting you whole arm wet.
    2. Turkey baster, surprisingly useful in the aquarium. initially used to target feed corals, sick or nursing fish.
    3. Ramekins are very useful when mixing fish foods, water conditioners and medicines.
    4. A bunch of varying sized syringes and a set of high quality measuring spoons is needed to ensure proper dosage (stainless or plastic).
    5. Cabinet LED light strips
    6. Labeling tool, labeling drums, mixing bowls, power cords and plug points is invaluable
    7. Old varying sized toothbrushes, for cleaning skimmer cups and almost everything else
    8. Cable Ties, leave a pack lying near your tank on maintenance days and see.
    9. Cable Tidies, for all those electrical cables that seem to look like a bowl of spaghetti
    10. Headlamp, great for looking into the underside of the DT sump space, as well as late night pest removals ;)

Looking forward to reading what everyone else builds as their lists.

    Cheers

I like the idea of the cabinet LED strips, where did you get these? I have a led torch that sits on my head, also has an infra red led to not startle fish at night, also makes it easier to catch any fish just after lights out.

    3. A accurate measuring vase for calibrating/setting up dosing pumps.
    4. Cyano acrylite (super glue) extra thick & CA accelerator (instantly dries the superglue) for gluing frags, broken equipment & accidentally fingers together!

Not only one, must have like 10 available. And close by, for when you really need them NOW...
    You will flood, guaranteed.

and a small step ladder. Yeah, standing on chairs, buckets or whatever to reach that f frag that fell behind the rockwork... The nice zoa you just paid for and drove all the way to the other side of the city.

Even if you have got 5 different extra tongs, the frag will just be a little bit under the rock and the tong cannot get to it.

Minimum 3m siphon pipe. 4m is easier. The longer the less the change of getting saltwater in your mouth.

My wife's long arms- never thought this would come in handy.
    Diving mask.
Aluminum braai tongue- longest one available.
Squeegee- one you use for your windscreen.
Velcro glued to another braai tongue on both sides of the ends.
    Big syringes.
2 point plugs- some cut to get damn plugs to fit-lots of them, and somehow, we are always short of plugs/adapters.
    Stepladder..
Petrol operated sludge pump to help with water collection.
    The wife.......
