I've decided to sell off some of my equipment and start up a new system.

    • 1.8m * 610mm * 610mm fully eurobraced tank in 10mm glass (20mm base) C2C Overflow- Front glass doesn't have a scratch on it;)1.2m * 450mm* 450mm sump. Stand covered with hammerite(no rust what so ever) and covered with Black woodwork. R4500
    • Aqua Medic Wave Controller/Maker - Controlled 5 seios and provided great random flow in the tank. R1300
    http://www.aqua-medic.de/seawater/en/20/wave1/
    • Reef Octopus Zeo Reactor - Can handle tanks up to 2000l. I got about 1kg of Zeolites. R1300
    • Hailea 5600l return pump. I think it's got a 5m head. Used for 2 minutes in my tank but it was to powerful:pR800

OK, I've decided to sell the tank for R3500 or else I'll use it for pot plants:p That's R1500 less than I originally wanted and way less than the price of a new tank;)

The Zeo Reactor holds Zeolites that help lower the nutrients in your tank. It basically provides an area where bacteria can house and consume the nutrients in your tank thus lowering the total amount available in your setup. It's really taken off in SA and most reefers I've spoken to have had really great success with the use of Zeolites;)You have to introduce small amounts of Zeolites to your tank initially as the sudden decrease in ammonia could be detremental to your coral:)

Check out this thread to learn about LNS;)
