First off WELCOME. Have you introduced yourself yet? It's gonna be very unstable. If this is your first tank it my be a bit off-putting. The lights are a bit weak, see if you can find any mods that people have done on their nano's and see if you can apply them Try and get the skimmer to...

    Help needed - fish dying

The problem could be how quickly you brought up the ph. A ph of 7.8 is 6* more acidic than a ph of 8.4. You raised the ph by .6 in only 45mins. Thay is way to quick, fish take a long time to acclimatise to ph differences, certainly longer than 45 mins. That could have been a serious determining...

    Iron oxide, good or bad??

I have read alot that rust and the associated iron oxide leads to issues in coral growth. I have as yet not found any reason for this effect, as scientific as opposed to anecdotal evidence. I have however read that iron oxide can help in the metabolism of hydrogen sulphide as created in the...

    Dangerous or not?

Closest to it so far is the Riterri (radianthus magnifica). It has settled on a rock high up near the surface and adhered to the rock, the head has opened up and the beginnings of short tentacles heading out. Still white, but it was in darkness for a day or two. It is about the size of my thumb...

It extended itself in the bukkie I had it in today. You clearly see the tentacles on the one end and the rounded, sort of adhesive side.

it is soft and slimey, looks like it has an opening at the top with polyps on the edges and it adheres to things on the opposite side/base. Was not in my tanks, someone was collapsing theirs and we found it amongst everything. I want to find out cause it looks coplex and those are always the...
