Urgent help needed Flower Pot Coral not extending

I got this Flower pot coral yesterday and it was looking butifuly in the lfs but when I got home and tested the water the salinety was at 20 and SG at 1,017 so I driped the coral in the bag for two and a half hours til salinaty at 31 and SG at 1,24 same as my tank and then plased it in my tank and whaited and still it has not extended at all. Is this a problem? Or will it aclimatise on its own?

Please help I do not want it to start dieing.
 
It will take some time to extend and how is the flow around the coral(to strong a flow and it will not extend).Also they are difficult to keep expecially the green one,but it is possible in a nutrient rich environment.
 
Ok so the jump in salinity and SG should not be a problem?
When I looked it up all that I found was every body saying that it it is a dificalt coral or "care leaval: Moderate" nobody spesifies why.

They are very temperamental corals. It is a difficult coral to look after because the exact care requirements are not known to make it thrive/live long term. I have two in a nutrient rich environment, same flow, level of feeding and light but one is thriving (a green one surprisingly enough) and the other hating life for whatever reason I don't know.

They come from turbulent waters so you should place it in a higher flow area. The flow also needs to be random (I forget the fancy term for it) but my one seems to be happy in the one directional flow area.

If you have the green or blue variety, you could try dosing iron (in amounts recommended for your tank size), people have had some success in getting theirs to open after doing so. Also try adding some food (fuel, zooplankton etc) to also try coaxing out.

Once you moved it, give it about 2 days to get used to the spot, try not to move it too often.

I have bought Three Litle Fishes Marine Snow with the goniopora and fed that yesterday and this morning all my other corals was going bananas after this but onley about 3 or 4 polips of the goniopora just just poked there heads out about 2 or 3mm far. There must must be a lot of "food" for the corals in my tank sinse I've had a Chilly Coral witch is a NPS in my tank for 2 years now and it is stil going and I never put any "coral food" in the tank. So I hope this guy makes it with the exstra "food".

My experience is that they don't like phyto so the marine snow may not be a good choice of food. Goniopowder is a good coral food but my gonis hate it, at least you managed to get a response out of it. Can you get a pic up? Also look out for brown jelly diesease, they are very susceptible to it.
 
I have a 900 X 300 X 350 DT with the same sise sump and 4 ATI T5 39w lights and its in a low flow area(I onley have low flow in my tank (I had problems before with sand storms and corals not opening sinse its a very shalow tank).

Try adding iron?
 
Givit time, some corals takes a while to addapt into new environment, besides sg and temp, a lot of other diference between your and lfs tanks cause certain corals to take a day or 2 to acllimate itself .....as said above,they dificult to keep and I wish u luck ;)
