Hi Guys

My Name is Joey and i'm here to start my very first predator tank. i have never had fish in my life and my friend recommend i join the site. when it comes to fish and tanks his very clued up, so at the end of the month i'm buying myself a fresh water tank and all the fish that come with it from my neighbor. my friend suggests that i should stick with that tank and familiar myself with the fish and the contents of how a tank works. he said then once i know how too look after fish and the ins and outs then i can go for a predator tank. my main goal is to get dwarf fuzzy lionfish. i think they are so beautiful.

well thats me for now.

Welcome to MASA.

I would not suggest starting with a freshwater tank if you intend moving over to marine fish - similar but also very different.

Their is enough expertise here to assist you with starting a marine tank from scratch without any prior experience necessary on your part.

All it entails from you is to read a lot, listen to the advice and ask question if anything is uncertain.

Good luck....

A very warm welcome to MASA, Joey! Great to have you on-board! Please read up a HUGE amount on predators - as they are "messy eaters", and a LOT of them require live food, unless you can get them to eat frozen equivalents.

Good luck with the venture - just do your homework before the time, before you start buying/getting lifestock!

Also - keep us in the loop. Please post pics as you go along?

masahelloHi bud welcome, I know you will come right. The only reason I say to go tropic first is responsibility, plus at least the tank wont be empty till you get all the equipment. (Im swaping him m old system for the f/w one).
