cheato on DSB

If its forced to tumble, it will break small little pieces off as it scrapes and hooks on the sand. That pieces will block up your return pump and other reactor pumps.

Nothing wrong to manually turn it over every second day.

And it needs more than 200mm deep to be able to tumble freely. More than 250mm actually
 
I've just removed all the Chaeto from my DSB, was turning out to be a real pain in the a$$. Clogging up the return pump, slowing down flow over the DSB ,detritus build up and the DSB not working! I need an alternative method for keeping Chaeto..

My Chaeto ball doesn't tumble, it grew from a fist size to about a full shopping packet size in 4 months... I have it under a 150w MH and 2x T5's in a frag-DSB-Chaeto refugium. I turn it about once a week It have given away about a full 20L bucket of the stuff since...
Think Lighting is the major thing you need for Chaeto;)
