Disappearances

Has anyone just have inhabitance just disappear.

I’ve got to large cleaner shrimp and a pair of diamond gobies just vanish. move rocks around checked where they normally hide but nothing not even some evidence that a murder might have been committed. These guys all seem to be disappearing since this guy arrived

yes, that is most likely the culprit.

carpet anemones are notorious for being fish munchers

Cleaner shrimp should be safe from a carpet, my shrimp walk over the carpet and do keep it clean. maybe the goby was showed by the carpet, my carpet has showed more fish than ocean basket customers have chowed. Has a wrasse or angel not chowed the shrimp. You check the sump? maybe the shrimp has molted and is hiding cause he is still soft.

yes i did and all is fine. going to move the nenny to one of my smaller tank dont want any of my other fish to go missing

ive got Dwarf Blue Hermit Crab got about 4 small and 3 large

it is a purple tip, and is supposed to be white

I will never put another carpet in my tank. Cost me 4 Goldies and 2 Fire Gobies.

its white with purple tips... the pic is not mine borrowed it from someone else but its the same nenny. i had camel shrimp and they got eaten by the nenny wasnt to worried bout them cause all they did was hide away

thats not a carpet anemone its a purple tip sebae...

I doubt that is the cause of your fish disappearing, most likely a crab that came in with the live rock...

if they disappeared overnight immediately after being introduced then perhaps you could consider the anemone as the new fish could have bumbed into at night and got stung but if they were in there for a few days then they would have known to stay away from the nennie...

they all were in before the nenny... ive got the nenny almost two months now and i noticed they went missing last week. the only fish big enough to eat them would be my trigger but he loved pulling into the car wash

All those fish loss not the anemone bud. And it is bleached.

BTW if you have it for two months? What are you feeding, doing for it's care??

Its definately a Sebae (H. crispa), and its definately bleached. I don't believe the anemone is the cause of the missing fish. Re-check water parameters with a different test kit, and keep searching for a predator. Did you quarantine the fish?
