crab, for sale in LFS, ideas?

Id on this fella? I was told he love eating snails and is used to keep populations of unwanted snails in check, but i have no idea about him. Funky eyes though :)

Cool. Looks like Percon gibbesi, sally light foot crab... like a lot of reef crabs, they likely eat mostly debris and algae while they're little. Once they get big, they could go after inverts (and maybe even fish).
 
awsome little addition to have i got one on the transkei coast and kept it in my 4ft for a few years, it grazes on algae and as sihaya says is a sally lightfoot. it never interfered with mu fish and i had mandarin and anthias in there.

the green on the crab seems to flash reminding of a strobe light :lol: and almost gives the impression that the crab is experienceing bursts of energy...
 
I'm with Sara. A Sally lightfoot crab. They get about 10cm across with juveniles being herbiverous and the adults predatory. They aren't reef safe and can be destructive
