Most articles say, the more you expose kalk to air the less effective it is, so a good gentle stir would be better.
Another mix is 1/2 tsp kalk with 15ml Vinegar to 1l ro water. This way you usually don't have any sludge at the bottom of the container.
My2c.
Apparently so.I agree, If I'm not mistaken, using vinegar also allows more Ca to be releast from the kalk.
If you are using the products properly probably no. What is your Ca in the tank.sorry to jump in - if I am dosing Reefbuilder and TM Bio Calcium will dripping kalk help in any way?
Not forgetting Alk. Alk, 6.5-8.5 DKH. Alk of 9 DKH will increase the growth of coralline.Corraline algae will benefit from calcium and magnesium addition. Calcium of about 450ppm and magnesium of about 1300ppm. Trace element additions will also help

Hi,
I have a FOWLR tank and noticed that some of my rocks are showing signs of corraline growth, should I start dosing calcium hydroxe or not.How do I go about increasing the corraline growth.
Cheers
No problem Mr Bond.:razz:Stirred BUT not shaken. Thanks Shaun
You will have to cut back on dosing the other stuff if you want to use Calcium hydroxide.Circa 400ppm
Shaun why is this? so what are the implications
What is the recommended Ca level?
Thx brentnorm but I was hoping riyadhessa was going to answer.
With a Ca level of 400 and the "recommended" range is 380-420 does one really need to add more Ca. That is why I said he may have to cut back on dosing the other stuff if he wanted to dose Calcium hydroxide.
Don't try fix something that is not broken.
Anyway it is just My2c.
No just Kalk and Magnesium Chloride, well it would depend on your demand.Agreed Shaun, and thanks for clarifying - I am trying to figure out a way to cut back on spending R400 for a large tub of TM Bio calcium and Magnesium
So it seems I would need to run a CaRX with Arogonite and Dolomite and a Kalk drip to do that?
