those pictures are hectic! that moray is tight! reminds me of the one i stumbled onto while fooling around wasting air diving waiting for everybody to regroup and i almost swam into one, was within strinking range too, lucky! but those pictures are really good!

AWESOME Jimbo - many thanks for sharing! We LOVE pics!

BTW: What camera are you using? I must say - you have some AWESOME pics of the fish - did you use the auto setting of the camera? Or did you actually set the shutter speed? If so, to what did you set your shutter speed to?

Off which reef are these pics?

I looks like the average depth you are at is +-12 to 15 metres - am I correct or completely mistaken?

:) No Thalion - those pics all show really healthy reefs - even the 1st pic - I see decent growth on those acropora's (even though they are "white'ish" in coloration - perhaps this what Warr is/was referring to?)

I have seen quite a FEW reefs - and these pics show healthy corals. I have seen damaged and sick reefs as well....

They look very "gray", no colour. Can't remember seeing plain looking corals like this when last on the island

Warr - at this depth (+-12 to 15 metres) all corals look brown. IF you are lucky to see colorful corals at a shallow depth, then I would say GREAT. Otherwise, in about 80 odd sea / reef dives I have done, I have never seen any colorful SPS corals, ever. None of my underwater pictures show any colorful SPS corals either.

This is exactly what reefs look like when SCUBA diving.

Cool, makes sense, no need to protect themselves at those sort of depths.
