Hi guys/girls
I bought 2 captive bred clowns today. They are about 4 cm in length. When i put them in all was good, they ate well and were swimming great.
Now they seem to be in slow motion. Sticking to an area with almost no water flow. And they are doing like a dance almost, touching their butts together , swiming backwards for a few seconds at a time.
Lastly, they gently escort the only other 2 fish, chromis, away from their spot.
Should i be freaking out ? They dont seem to be getting worse.
Thanks yo

It seems as though the darker one, the male i take it, is doing the chasing. I just fed them and they seem fine, chasing the food vigouresly. Good fin extension and colour change as they do so. Then back to slow mo.
Any comments ?

Yeah, my clowns are also clowning around like that. Don't worry.

The one that is doing the chasing is most likely the female. The female will grow bigger than the male and will be more dominant. Clowns start off asexual and 'fight' for sex depending on environment

Thanks for the replies chaps. They seem to be getting worse though. swimming slower. Everything else in the tank seems fine. Crabs are doing well and the anemonies too. So if they are sick then i doubt its the water quality.

video is private..
some questions before we see it, how old is the tank? What is ammonia, nitrite, nitrates?

Sorry about that. The water wasnt tested. My thinking was that if the anems and tiny filter feeders etc were ok then all would be ok.
Seeing as though they are so sensitive.

@finch, the video is still marked as private, need to change that in your youtube profile where you uploaded the video.
On a second note, how is the fish now ?
