Agreed.
Agreed, what I was saying is that worrying about the exact ratio is silly and that a general idea of the principle is what is required as there are some quite large variations between different life forms.
Ok cool
Thanks guys
For me it boils down then to the fact that if you have either one set up and running correctly, it is actually a waste in any case to run both.
Out of curiosity, what were these 2 forms of filtration and what happenedHave to say that mixing the two for me would be a no no and thats from experience
I have mixed two forms filtration and it was not a good result
I am really curious to know what would happen if we mixed the 2 together. Does anyone know?Guys running both methods together is a recipe for disaster if Zeo worked better with a solid carbon source like biopellets or biocubes then zeovit would have done it already and be marketing it.
The zeovit method is best run the way zeo intended and if you are running zeovit and not getting your system to run at nsw levels then there is a underlying problem that probably needs to be addressed within your system.
I will add that i have had good result running some zeoproducts (zeobak, spongepower, amino acids )with biopellets alone.
It was NP Bio Pellets which I had on from the startOut of curiosity, what were these 2 forms of filtration and what happened
well you seem to think it will be a good thing so try it and let us all knowI am really curious to know what would happen if we mixed the 2 together. Does anyone know?
bio-cubes is patented...I promise you they would not be making them. I got awesome results from the cubes. All this dosing everyday...I have job I have to do everyday and pay a home loan as well
Out of curiosity, what makes you say this will be a recipe for disaster?
OK, I see what you are saying. I only use cubes...they far outperform the bio-pellets, but, what I actually want to know is this. If I added cubes and zeovit together, what would happen. Everyone is talking about merits of this product and that product. I want to know what will happen?Hi killer whale
I know that biocubes are patented and i have met with the manufacturer, you are missing the point, by the way the only thing dosed daily with (KZ)zeovit systems is Zeostart 3 which takes all of a +- 20 seconds a day.
Let me put it another way and i think Dallas touched on this earlier in this thread, the only person with a true understanding of the makeup of Zeovit is Thomas Phol and i know for a fact that if using a solid carbon source was the best way to go instead of using zeostart 3 then thats what zeovit would be doing.
I spent hours chatting with the Korallen-zucht team including Thomas while in Germany for interzoo, Zeostart 3 is more complex than a solid carbon source like biopellets or bio-cubes and thus can not be substituted.
Anyone who is running the two together is obviously hoping the two systems will live in want for a better word in Harmony and find a perfect equilibrium, i seriously doubt this will be the case.
The main question we should be asking is why would you want to mix systems.
zeovit (Korallen - zucht) is a proven system that over years as been fine tuned and works, why mess with it?
Biopellets also a system that gives great results with when going by the manufacturers guidlines.
Biocubes while a new product (locally made i may add which is awesome),is also giving reefers i have spoke to who are using it great results , i dont think anywhere on the tub it says anything to do with zeovit be it neo zeo, basic zeolites or KZ Zeovit.
Lastly another thing no one is factoring in regarding Zeomedia (KZ) is unlike all other zeovit based systems zeomedia contains more than one type of zeolite.
Nobody seems to have answers...it looks like I will have to do just that indeed.well you seem to think it will be a good thing so try it and let us all know
But thats what I am trying to tell you personally I think yopu will mess up the ratios and like me you will sit with a situation where you have very low N but high P or visa versaOK, I see what you are saying. Due to PO4 being added into the food that we feed the fish, these ratios are already messed up. I really don't believe that this has anything to do with any media in particular. GFH sorts a high PO4 level out very nicely and quicklyBut thats what I am trying to tell you personally I think yopu will mess up the ratios and like me you will sit with a situation where you have very low N but high P or visa versa
