washing sand questions?

Rain water can also have some chemicals, depending on where the rain cloud was "formed"

Ever heard of acid rain?;)

Go barebottom?

Bud rain water is cool. I am trying to help you, not pick on you. You are doing good. OK

Just go back and read what I have said. If you are still unsure give me a PM and I will be happy to help over a please call me.

As NJ said, it's fine. Next time just test whatever water you use. Tht will put your mind to rest.
And so i will go and rest now, before I stir up more ghosts unintentionally.

Yes, its fine to have washed your sand with rainwater.
Barebottom refers to having no substrate in your tank..... My style! Kaalgatkoraalkwekerkoos!

Short. Your sand will only be able to uptake any chemicals that can be bound to it. The rest will simply be flushed away in the flushing/washing process. Not sure what acid rain or rain water you used but most likely nothing detrimental to your tank. If you are unsure give it a good rinse in tap water.
