It was a very welcome surprise to see a brand new water pump from Stream at Reefapalooza, this time it’s the high powered Stream 6155. The Tunze Stream 6155 was designed to replace the Stream 6205 which is the controllable propeller pump from Tunze which is found inside the full size wave boxes.
The Tunze Stream 6155 pushes 4,000 gph as measured with ultrasonic velocimeter and for $550 it will come with the more open strainer, a wider shaft to decrease noise, a longer impeller magnet for higher velocity and a high powered neodymium magnet that can hold this pump onto glass that is up to one inch thick – expected to drop sometime in late November.
