It’s not as easy to have acans make new colour combinations, but its worth it!
It must be up to 30 plus different intentional colour combinations in the top tank now and four really weird ones, but they are sort of ugly in the bottom tank.
Others like them, i think they are weird!
These are a couple more of the colour variations from bits of others that change compared to the original I took from.
Have been trying out which ones kill sps and which colours live well up against them.
Its all a learning curb and keeps the hobby from getting boring.

If they're real...... WOW!

That’s cool, this is the internet and it is hard to wade through all the bulls—t at times, but if you looked in the tank you would fell foolish still saying what’s in front of you is photo shopped.
I think it’s the leds and nutrient levels that give my acans so many colours, plus they react to who they are next to, flow, additives and especially at what level they are placed.
The things that are fascinating to me are which variations are harm full to other corals close by and how others change colour depending on what colours they are next them.

Any way I like them as a coral, never use to till I went with leds, under T5s for me, they don’t look half as good.

This one is the coolest subtle change that I like of my acans.
While stressed after forgetting it and it was left in material for nearly two days out side of the aquariums waters..

The colours are the excess of what is reflected and picked up and is not the true colour of the corals

How about a short vid, @pkc?

With my pre paid data allowance, no way, I don't have much left until during the week, from the notification from virgin last night, I may run out today and wouldn't waste my time.
If you think they are not that great of colour and think its all photoshoped, that’s fine.

There are two of them in question by you lot in this pic from some days back at the top left hand side, not close up, just with the camera with out of its housing up above the water.
Even up there they look like nice colours, well to me anyway.
Make of it what you will, most would any way, I like my acans!

Most of my acans are in the following link, that would be a lot of photoshopping wouldn't it,lol.

I killed an enormous amount of life with the calcium/phosphate precipitation experiment a few months back I think it was, but its all good now, no loses with clams, acans and many others inverts, just enormous colour changes occurred, killed 70 percent of my sps and a few other life forms.
The latezonatus amphiprions loved it????

Enough pulling your leg. The colours are stunning. We dont get colours of coral like that in south africa. The exchange rate is prohibitive. I wish I had corals as beautiful. Truly amazing

A couple of our ex club members commercially collect them and specialise in them and export them.
Bruce and Heath came from south Africa a while back and use to collect over there for their tanks, they sell the acans off their coral permit here in Brisbane
They are called saltypets, maybe they would send some over, I don't know?
I haven't seen them out collecting since last year when they were chasing billions of peppermint shrimp for the market where i showed them where to find that many.
I am sure they are still into it.

I love acans, and yes, we also get them here. My tank is not where I want it wrt big corals. If it is ready, I will add a lot of different colored acans. Have about four already. Thank you PKC for sharing. Please post more, and yes, I believe it is not photoshopped as I have seen awesome specimens in real life.

i dont think they are photoshoped ... my friend's acans have some stunning colors probably even brighter than the ones @pkc posted.. will take some pics tonight and post tomorrow.
