Ja i was thinking about if someone asked me to make one for them i will ask R2000 labour atleast, cos man this is very time consuming and hard work.

But doing something diy is so cool. i love it

I would pay for that, let me know hwo much it all costs in the end, inclusive of labour, would love to know. I would love to change my current drivers to the ones you got, you up for the challenge?

Sounds good! Wanna keep most the stuff from Goby, just change drivers, I am sure you know how Goby's set up worked. So when you done, we can make a plan for you guys to come over and see what we can do.

I dont know if the stevesleds drivers will work on yours cos youve got bridglux leds if im not mistaken.

Chat to goby and hear what hi says. He knows that leds well.

I know more or less how his setup works but dont know the specs on the leds or drivers.

I do have the bridgelux 3w leds, have dimmabe drivers, but can't have sunrise mode or sunset mode i.e can't connect up to a controller. I will chat to @Goby and see what he says. I am in no way in a HUGE hurry, lets talk when your tank is up a running.

Ok cool.

Not a problem.
We can maybe try then to just add the drivers into your current light unit.
And then you remove the control box with the old drivers in.

I still have to save some cash for the new tank for the glass so im just gona finish the led unit now and use it on my curent tank and take the MH unit off.

all leds at full power

wow that is amazing im gunna do this one of these days, does anyone know altogether how much it will draw ( electricity wise) compared to 8xT5's and MH etc...?

Well, I think it works out to how many LEDs you have, am I right? So if CW has 32 3W leds, that's 96w, along with the 200w PSU, not sure how much current the fans and the drivers will draw, I guess minimal. So in total probably around 350W (correct me if I am wrong, anyone)?

Even it draws the same amount as T5s and MH, the point of the matter is that you get extremely long life on the LED's, this should eventually out cost any other lighting unit, taking into account the cost of replacing T5 and MH globes.:)

i understand that but wouldnt it be an advantage if you could save electricity too ?obviously only in a perfect life LOL ;)
